Description:
Microsoft is looking for highly motivated business development leader for our Data Center Business Development efforts.

The Business Development Manager/Director will negotiate and land go-to-market alliances with Microsoft’s most important System Integrator (SI) partners (e.g., Accenture, Capgemini, Unisys, T-Systems, Wipro…) develop and execute plans for broad engagement with all Enterprise Partners with the goal of increasing Microsoft share in Data Center market and driving Hyper-V adoption and System Center revenue and competing with VMware.

Specifically, this highly visible business development leader will be accountable for;

• Partnering with MS’s Business Groups and Sales teams to develop Microsoft’s Enterprise Partner strategy for Data Center including virtualization and systems management.

• Identifying and quantifying different opportunities to drive Hyper-V adoption and System Center revenue with leading Alliance partners

• Structuring deals that will help Microsoft grow versus VMware

• Developing and executing a strategy for increasing Hyper-V penetration in Outsourcers

• Developing go-to-market initiatives that combine Microsoft and partner strengths

• Designing detailed solution development, marketing, sakes, training, and governance plans

• Ensuring that deal land successfully in Microsoft and Partner field and yield the expected results

The role enjoys high visibility, significant autonomy and a very generous compensation scheme.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Experience

• A strong candidate for this role will have >10 years of combined work experience in business development, alliance management, enterprise sales, and/or consulting with industry leading companies (e.g., Oracle, IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, Sapient, McKinsey)

• Experience in the Data Center sector is a pre-requisite

Knowledge

A strong candidate will possess a;

• Strong understanding of the market for virtualization and systems management

• Strong understanding of sales process for selling services and products into enterprise data center, including outsourcers

• Familiarity with the business model of Global Systems Integrators (e.g., Accenture, Wipro, T-Systems, etc.)

• Strong understanding of enterprise sales (how enterprise software is sold and purchased)

Skills

A strong candidate will have;

• Exceptional problem solving and strategic thinking skills

• Strong program management and communication skills

• Proven competency to collaborate cross organizations, deal with ambiguity and driving impact without direct authority

• Ability to quickly assimilate concepts from various sources and external stakeholders.

• Comfort envisioning and evangelizing concepts to internal and external stakeholders
