A combination of Privacy, Legal and Regulatory concerns has moved Identity & Access Management (IDA) to the Top-Ten IT priorities being addressed by enterprises today. As a result, IDC has identified IDA as one of the fastest growing enterprise markets - growing to $6B+ by the end of 2010. IDA is Microsoft’s strategic platform for winning this business and we are looking for the right people who want to win and have fun doing it.


Microsoft’s IDA strategy is built around five solution areas: Directory Services (Active Directory- AD), Strong Authentication (Certificate Services/PKI), Federated Identity (Active Directory Federation Services - ADFS), Information Protection (Active Directory Rights Management Services - ADRMS), and ForeFront Identity Manager (FIM).


The Incubation Sales Organization drives sales of newly developed and acquired enterprise products to $1B in worldwide revenue, positioning them for transition to Microsoft’s field sales organization. Incubation is currently responsible for selling: Windows Azure, Voice, Parallel Data Warehouse, Mobility, RMS, UAG, Forefront Identity Manager, Bing Maps, and HPC.


As an IDA SSP, you will own a defined territory with the responsibility to meet IDA revenue objectives and close complex IDA deals.


You will be responsible for working with Microsoft field sales teams to engage with our enterprise customers in an effort to upsell them on IDA. You will also work with key partners (telcos, Large Account Resellers, VARs and SIs) on sales planning and execution, perform skills transfer for partners' sales forces and provide input and feedback from field and partners to the marketing and product development process.


This role is primarily based in the NY Metro area of the US. It also has coverage also includes partial coverage for the Communications Division which is spread throughout the US.


Effective sales pipeline development and pipeline management experience required. Close coordination and support of field sales teams is essential.


They key responsibilities of this position include selling IDA to customers, removing roadblocks to deployment, and driving customer satisfaction. In addition, you will provide leadership to other Microsoft staff in identifying IDA opportunities. You will also be responsible for managing investment funds to support large opportunities.


The ideal candidate will have a proven record of growing new businesses and building technical relationships. A strong working knowledge of and significant sales experience in the network security, remote access, and edge protection space is required.

Ability to effectively present to a wide range and size of audiences from IT technician to CIO level is a must. A good understanding of issues surrounding deployment and integration of technologies and solutions is required.


Position Requirements:


• Solution Selling Experience: Proven success with enterprise customers, working knowledge of solution-selling strategies and tactics and business value selling

• A minimum of 7 years' experience in enterprise software sales

• Demonstrated experience and success engaging with senior executives in a sales process and working with consultants, systems integrators and major computer vendors

• Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and analytical and presentation skills are required

• Candidate must possess exceptional demonstrated decision-making, conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation skills

• Strong understanding of network security, remote access and network edge protection solutions.

• BS/BA degree.

• MSCE preferred

• CISSP is desirable

• Knowledge of Oracle/Sun Identity solutions is desirable
