The Microsoft OEM organization is responsible for worldwide sales, marketing, and licensing of preinstalled software on mobile phones, embedded consumer and commercial devices, PCs, and servers produced by large multinational account (MNA) OEMs, local manufacturers, system builders, and the distribution channels that support them.

Group: OEM Embedded Devices Group

The OEM Embedded Device (OED) group within OEM is hiring a business development manager to drive development and manage OEM relationships. OED Is looking for an experienced and energetic business development manager focused on strategic selling, planning, partnership / OEM account management and new business development. In addition, the business development manager will be responsible for negotiating licensing agreements, communicating the MS embedded product strategy, driving OEM product decisions, managing executive relationships, and executing regular customer briefings. Key priorities include identifying net new business opportunities, and managing those opportunities to closure via the partner OEM channel. This role also requires a high degree of cross-group collaboration with the Embedded Devices product team, legal, finance, and operations. In this role you are responsible for:

• Develop and drive business plan between Direct Embedded OEMs and Microsoft managing all aspects of the execution and business relationship.
• Integration of sales strategies across Microsoft and the Direct Embedded OEM - working with product, services, sales and executive management, to deliver the unit and revenue goals.
• Develop and leveraging executive level relationships within Microsoft, within the embedded OEM’s organization, and within other relevant organizations to support execution strategy.
• Effectively track the progress of the relationship through the Scorecard, QBR processes to ensure that there is consistency and progress on overall strategy and tactical steps to drive the performance.
• Build, lead and manage a virtual team including Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Licensing to achieve goals and core strategies.
• Communicate/report/solve business issues and strategic opportunities to Microsoft and Embedded OEMs on Corporate VP level and equivalent
• Manage financial reporting including business plans, monthly/quarterly budget and scorecard.
• Identify areas of improvement for OED, and revenue for our OEM channel.
• Owning a sales quota.

The successful Business Development Manager will demonstrate highly developed sales skills, strategic and analytical thinking skills, a good understanding of the embedded industry, working knowledge of agreement and contract issues, strong negotiating skills, and the ability to think fast and enjoy working in a great team environment! You should be self-starter, organized, able to operate with minimal supervision, and capable of driving large, complex deals to a successful close. You will also possess solid relationship and communication skills in working with senior executives

Required Qaulifications:
A Bachelors’ degree, preferably in a Business or Scientific discipline, and a minimum of 8-10 years work experience in the software and distribution industries is required. You will need to have carried a quota and be able to show solid results.You should be self-starter, organized, able to operate with minimal supervision, and capable of driving large, complex deals to a successful close. You will also possess solid relationship and communication skills in working with senior executives

In addition, the candidate will also have strong skills in: Communication (oral, written, presentation) prioritization, organization, negotiation, execution ability, strategic thinking, customer service, budget and project management, and interpersonal skills. Experience with start-up, distribution / OEM channel, and unique businesses is a plus, and an MBA is preferred.

This position is based in Redmond and will have frequent contact with all levels of Microsoft employees and will require high level contact with Microsoft and embedded OEM executive management. The role will require domestic and limited international travel.
