We are seeking a strong and experienced sales professional with a specific mix of both technology product knowledge and leadership ability to be responsible for overall sales strategy, planning and execution of a set of activities which support sales and business development for the Data Center Architecture play and Cisco Data Center and Virtualization technology solutions within the Canadian market.

The qualified candidate will function as a subject matter expert and perform at a district manager level to collaborate with sales and channel teams to accelerate customer and partner preferences and drive sales for the Data Center Architecture product and set of related technology solutions including Data Center, Virtualization and Unified Computing System.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development of a high performance national Specialist team, managing resource allocation as required across Canada.
Work collaboratively with sales, channels and service leadership to position, design and sell technology solutions, and scale technology sales through direct sales and channel partners for high-touch, mid-touch and low touch accounts.
Possess competitive knowledge for Data Center Architecture to ensure appropriate competitive positioning and programs for key technology solutions for both customers and partners.
Plan and execute sales and technical activities relative to technology solution maturity. Such as new product introduction, early customer wins, scaling sales and protection of mature technology base.
Develop and execute sales strategies, sales plans for technologies within Architecture, solution offers, revenue accountability, competitive programs, sales operations, marketing programs, pipeline development, resource allocation and management, best practice sharing, internal and external visibility, community development etc.
Develop programs to scale technology sales, including sales enablement, partner development and skills transfer. Define and execute Data Center sales strategy in Canada
Working in partnership with Canada sales, channel, services and partner leaders to form technology solution offers, drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction from successful implementation of technologies. Deepen market penetration and drive fulfillment of market development priorities.
Work in partnership with theatre and global Data Center teams for coordination of complementary technologies as appropriate, and ensuring coordinated sales and go-to-market approach in Canada.
Collaborate with internal leadership, Architecture direct and virtual sales team. Proactively create forums for sharing best practices and continuous learning. Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas, including executive communication and presentation skills, and provide mentorship and development to Specialist teams.
Capabilities and Competencies Required:
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Data Center and Virtualization market and ability to take a comprehensive approach to developing and achieving Architecture leadership in Canada.
• Effectively deals with contentious situations, problem handling and escalations.
• 10+ years of overall experience with 5 years of sales management experience with proven record of selling, coaching and mentorship in a high technology environment
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with leadership across Canada and Theatre
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Commitment to sales performance and ability to identify and develop top talent
• Ability to work cross functionally
• Ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans with an expert understanding of technology industry trends, including new products and solutions introduction and go-to-market.
• Strong understanding of competitive products and solution landscape.
• Expert consultative skills, including ability to define trade-offs, ask probing questions, and incorporate Cisco solutions into a broader technology environment Business Acumen.
• A detailed-level of expertise of the business economics and trends within Architecture and technology solutions, including business, financial and strategic value of Cisco solutions.
• Expert at understanding Cisco vision and technology direction, can articulate the vision from a customer perspective and create unique, business relevant value propositions for Cisco solutions
• Expert understanding of customer business drivers and how to map these to a customer network platform, including identification of improvement areas in network design
• Ability to help customers with business case, ROI analysis and design optimization to match customers business needs.
