Microsoft Enterprise Search solutions for Internet Sites provide a strong platform for creating compelling Internet-facing solutions in the growing Digital Marketing space. Microsoft FAST Search for Internet Sites (FSIS) is our premium Internet Sites search product and enables online businesses to create engaging web experiences faster and more efficiently than ever before. Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites, Enterprise (FIS-E) and Standard (FIS-S) are our Internet Sites products for the quickly growing SharePoint product. The Internet Sites Sales team, Central US Region has an immediate opening for a Technology Specialist based in the region. The successful candidate will provide strategic technical leadership supporting Microsoft customers and partners to adopt, deploy, and support Internet Site search solutions based on the Microsoft Enterprise Search platform, including the solutions of the former FAST Search & Transfer. This person will be critical in helping to drive revenue attainment goals for the district by providing deep technical expertise, effective sales support, and a superior focus on our customers. Responsibilities: - Provide strategic technical advice on Microsoft’s Internet Sites search offerings to customers, prospective customers, partners and internal constituents, communicating value-added contributions of Microsoft products and services, including both long term messages about products, technologies, and services, as well as short term positioning for competitive situations or dynamic market conditions. - Provide technical expertise in helping customers evaluate solutions based on your product knowledge, while influencing the business decision making process. Must help enterprise customers understand how the Enterprise Search platform can be applied to drive business value. - Work collaboratively with ESG Sales, Microsoft Sales, Partner Account Managers and Partners to jointly develop qualified FAST pipeline for Internet Business and close sales. - Engage in and lead the Solutions Development and Proof phases of the sales opportunity with Strategy/Technology Briefings, Architectural Design Sessions and Proofs of Concept to overcome technical and competitive blockers and to prove Microsoft’s capabilities to meet customer’s requirements. - Assist with partner and internal sales readiness on Microsoft’s search for Internet Sites products. - Demonstrate effective co-selling and partner attachment in your opportunities through working with Partner Account Managers on partner recruitment and readiness. - Drive customer and partner satisfaction for your products and solutions. - Connect enterprise customers and partners back to the product groups to drive feedback. Requirements: - Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and successful proven track record in Enterprise Search or Web Content Management technology. - Have knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Enterprise Search products, including architecting, deploying and managing Enterprise Search environments. - Have experience with configuring SharePoint applications, administering SharePoint servers and customizing SharePoint applications to meet customer needs. - Have strong presentation skills, delivering persuasive presentations to both technical and business decision makers. Demonstrate strong written communication skills. - Have experience with application development and architecture experience for enterprise solutions. - Have shown proven success with enterprise customers, with a working knowledge of solution-selling strategies and tactics and business value selling including but not limited to, strategic planning, risk analysis and business justification. - Have a record of a high degree of collaboration with multiple sales personnel and partners. Specifically, the successful candidate will have significant experience in readiness and leveraging the partner community. Have the ability to support partner relationships, general business acumen and sales expertise to grow market share for Internet Business for the sales district - Must have a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and at a high level - Have strong ability to understand and empathize with what motivates and drives parties to the selling process (e.g. a partner), and to use that ability to resolve conflicts, find win/win accommodations, and ultimately grow the business. - Understand and be able to effectively communicate the key strengths and functional breadth of the Enterprise Search platform and integration with the Microsoft product line to drive the development and deployment of search platform solutions for internet sites. Qualifications: - Successful candidates will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience combined with a Microsoft product certification or MCSE. MS/MBA degree preferred. - Travel - moderate travel is required (25-30%).
