Division: Original Equipment Manufacturer Group (OEM)

Group: OEM Marketing
OEM Marketing defines and executes the investment strategies, marketing programs and activities tailored for OEM Partners and their customers to achieve the OEM division’s fiscal unit, share and revenue goals.

The Product & Channel Marketing team defines and executes the campaign and a marcom strategy for all relevant products and audiences, leads creative strategy for all marketing programs, leads product readiness during the “go-to-market” product phase, and defines and drives key industry event strategy and execution for OEM.

Summary of position:
This position will develop and drive the Commercial Product Marketing strategy for the OEM division, including a specific focus on developing and executing relevant compete strategies. You will have core accountability for Windows 7 & Windows Server products, but will be expected to develop and effectively lead and communicate the end-to-end marketing strategy for commercial PCs and Servers.

Responsibilities:
Your success will be driven by deep understanding of the needs of commercial customers worldwide, your ability to develop robust product marketing strategies based on that, and delivering a set of scalable programs, campaigns, creative assets and activities to support them.

Your key objectives will be:
Provide a thorough understanding of the commercial PC and Server competitive landscape to support the Commercial Product Marketing strategy and plan development.
Define and lead the Commercial Product Marketing strategy tailored for OEM partners.
Ensure scalability and delivery of impactful and high quality deliverables timed for the relevant selling seasons to ensure maximum marketing efficiency and ROMI through tight collaboration with the OEM Core Product & Channel Marketing team.
Develop and drive a scalable and effective compete strategies for all relevant products for all OEM partner types.
Develop and drive deep alignment, highly effective partnership and cross-group collaboration with all relevant teams.

This position has no solid line people management accountabilities, but will have dotted line reporting from the Commercial Product Marketing Manager as well as Office Product Marketing Manager who both report to the OEM Core Products & Channel Marketing Lead. The role is highly important to success of the OEM division across all of our FY11 Priorities, and will be directly focused on those listed below:

Growing share across platforms, services and solutions through:
Driving the momentum for Premium Windows PC’s
Building on Windows 7 Momentum, the Enterprise cycle, and Office 2010
Drive coverage/conversion model for Live/Search/Office
Scaling our strategy and framework for Sever, Embedded and Windows Mobile

Land the following new products with excellence:
Office 2010, Windows Phone 7, Windows 7 Embedded, Windows Live Wave 4

Lead platform compete efforts on alternative platforms through:
Pro-actively leading ARM/X86 conversation with industry on behalf of Microsoft and help other segments
Increasing visibility, reporting and traction on product and service offerings
Leveraging multi-screen scenarios to demonstrate long-term value of MS partnership

Increase partner satisfaction through end-to-end support such as:
Extending efforts to deliver optimized partner experience from country to region to local engagement
Continuing program and operations simplification while driving 100% compliance
Delivering marketing program stability and consistency
Launching and Sales Excellence

Business planning
Execute on COS and Account Plans
Continue simplifying our OEM partner model to reduce complexity and drive partner satisfaction (CPE)



Experience & Education Required:
A successful candidate has passion for technology, PCs and Servers, the ability collaborate effectively across multiple internal groups as well as directly OEM partners, and must be highly motivated to overcome challenges and deliver impactful results.

This position also requires very strong presence, communication and writing skills. The ideal candidate should be a resourceful professional who can tackle a new area, drive multiple projects on their own and manage across virtual and extended teams. Qualifications include a minimum of 4+ years in marketing and/or product marketing, preferably in a commercial products business. Experience in the PC channel or industry is also a plus but not required. A degree with a concentration in Business Management, Finance or Marketing is ideal; MBA is preferred but not required. Some travel may be required.
