Sales Account Executive- Chicago, base plus commission

Description:
Inside sales position for a leading Third Party Logistics company located in Chicago. Compensation is base plus commission.

JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and maintain client relationships by providing transportation solutions and outstanding customer service in a open office transactional selling environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Make initial contact with customers, introduce Schneider Logistics and our services to them and build and maintain ongoing relationships. Increases business with customers over time.
2. Makes sales calls to prospective customers through the telephone, up to 70 cold calls/day and have established a book of business that currently earns significant variable incentive.
3. Manage daily load activities through discussion with customers and carriers to ensure superior customer service.
4. Quote, negotiate price and commit transportation services on the spot with customers.
5. Be comfortable working with complex computer systems to enter our daily load details and follow-ups on a continual basis.
6. Handle incoming calls for all customers that may call in and be a valuable resource for problem resolution, load tracking and collection on invoices.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelors degree, or previous experience in transportation / transportation related or sales fields; or the equivalent.
2. Previous experience in transportation or trucking industries desired but not mandatory.
3. Previous sales experience desired but not mandatory.
4. Possess good problem analysis skills; able to understand and meet customer needs (internal and external).
5. Possess good judgment and sensitivity.
6. Ability to maintain motivation and energy for cold calling and prospecting.
7. Strong work ethic, faster learner.
8. Self-starter and motivated to achieve.
9. Great phone presence and verbal skills with customers.
10. Analytical and comfortable with computer and multiple applications.
