Motivation Tips

I've been in sales for 10 years and it's hard to always stay motivated. I was wondering if anyone has any good tips on how they stay focused? Thanks.

I work from home so it's imparative that I stay self motivated. Here are a couple of techniques that I use. I'll take a piece of scrap paper and put the numbers 1-30 on them. I won't get up, answer the phone or anything until all of those 30 numbers have an 'x' on them showing thatI've made a call. I also put large pieces of paper on my bulletin board above my computer with positive words and images of some items I want. And finally money motivates me so I put a running tally of how much money I have made on a large piece of paper too. I love to see that number go up and up! Hope that helps.

For me, I stay motivated through accountability.
I set specific and time-bound goals, write them down and track them regularly. On a weekly basis, I send a brief summary of my successes and challenges to stakeholders who have committed to helping me stay accountable (like my manager and trainer). Their feedback helps keep me engaged.

Another thing I find helpful is talking to other sales professionals outside of my organization. Networking with other sales professionals is vital to staying energized about my career.
